By applying our cool roofing solutions to 1,830 m² of roof, the Volkswagen dealership in Orvault eliminated its heat peaks and kept the interior temperature under control all summer long.
In the summer of 2021, the Volkswagen dealership in Orvault (Loire-Atlantique) is having difficulty maintaining the set temperature inside, despite an active air conditioning system. The cause: a highly exposed metal roof, causing overheating peaks in the summer.
To resolve the situation, Cool Roof France took action in August on 1,830 m² of roof, applying its thermo-reflective coating and carrying out precise instrumented monitoring.
Readings taken on 14 August 2021 show a maximum reduction in surface temperature of 31°C, with an average of 15°C. Treated areas peaked at 50°C, compared with almost 80°C in unpainted areas.
At the same time, the ambient temperature inside the treated areas remained 6°C lower on average, with a maximum difference of 12°C in the middle of the afternoon. This thermal stabilisation reduces the need for air conditioning, while ensuring constant comfort for employees and customers.
