Thanks to the application of our cool roofing solution to 1160 m² of bitumen membrane roofing, the west pier of terminal 2G at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport has reduced its surface temperature by 24°C and its electricity consumption linked to air conditioning by 21%.
The roof of the west pier of terminal 2G at Roissy airport, made of a bituminous membrane, was subject to significant heat peaks in the summer, with excess electricity consumption linked to the continuous operation of the air conditioning systems.
In July 2018, Cool Roof France worked with the ADP Group on 1160 m², applying its thermo-reflective coating. Readings were compared with those from the east pier, which remained untreated, over a full period until July 2019.
The painted roof reached a maximum of 35.5°C, compared with 59.7°C on the control pier, a difference of 24.2°C. The average drop recorded was 14.8°C.
Analysis of consumption shows a 21% reduction on the equipped west pier, confirming the effectiveness of cool roofing in real-life, continuous situations.
