Cool Roof cools a non-food commercial building in climatic zone H1c

Thanks to the application of our cool roofing solution to 1460 m² of roofing, this non-food retailer located in the H1c zone has reduced its energy consumption by up to 41%, with an average saving of 4.3 kWh/m²/year and an estimated carbon footprint reduction of 5.3 tonnes over 20 years.

A full-scale test to estimate energy savings

In July 2023, Cool Roof France treated 1,460 m² of roofing on a non-food commercial site in the H1c zone. The aim of the project was to assess the real impact of cool roofing on air conditioning consumption under summer operating conditions.

The results show significant thermal efficiency, reducing the load on the cooling systems while stabilising the indoor temperature.

Measured benefits for energy and the climate

-30% reduction in average energy consumption

The savings measured vary from 22% to 41% depending on the day of operation, with an average saving of 30%. This equates to savings of 4.3 kWh/m²/year on air conditioning alone.

5.3 tonnes of CO₂ avoided

Over a 20-year projection, this project will reduce the carbon footprint by 3.63 kgCO₂/m², equivalent to 5.3 tonnes of CO₂ avoided, without any change in equipment.
