Welcome to our series of articles " The Coolest Team on the Microphone. "

For this third interview, we receive Muriel Chevallier, Logistics Manager at Cool Roof.

Muriel Chevallier is Responsible for Logistics of the Operations division of Cool Roof, a company that combines innovation and commitments to environmental and social issues in the building sector. Through her role, she provides the coordination of projects and operations are running smoothly in the whole of France. In this interview, she looks back on her journey, the challenges of his job, and his ambitions in an evolving field.

Thank you Muriel for granting us this interview today. First, can you tell us about your background before joining Cool Roof ?

Muriel : of course ! My background is rather atypical. After a bac STG with a management option, I continued with a BTS gestion PME-PMI, and a professional license in alternating logistics of the food chain. These years have allowed me to acquire solid skills and directly applicable

I worked for 11 years in the logistics management ofan organic bakery working on the reintroduction of the natural leaven, a trade that made sense for me thanks to the values that he wore. But the time were incompatible with my personal life. So I made a jump in the metallurgy, where I discovered other facets of the logistics, including the handling.

Finally, in march last, I have joined a Cool Roof. I needed to find a job that makes sense, and the environmental values brought by the company have been a good engine for me.

today, I am proud to contribute in my own way, to the fight against climate change and social inequality as it worsens.

How would you describe your role at Cool Roof, and the challenges that it implies ?

Muriel : My main role as a Logistics Manager at Cool Roof is to coordinate the logistics of the building. Once a project is planned, I am sure that the teams have everything they need to work effectively : the materials, thetechnical equipment, and even on-site housing projects are far apart.

This is a job that requires a lot ofanticipation and a great capacity ofadaptation.

For example, the weather can change in an instant. If it is raining, it is necessary to review all the planning and rescheduling operations in an emergency. During the season of building, from march to October, my work is a mixture of careful planning and responsiveness to challenges

Off season, I’m focusing on the improvement of the process. For example, we work on balance sheets to better quantify this, which is applied on the roofs and optimize our feed. It is a work of detail, but it’s essential to gain in efficiency.

The sectors of the building and logistics have historically been, and are still areas that are heavily male. Is this an issue for you in your work ?

Muriel : My answer may seem surprising, but not. I have always worked in environments where the men were in the majority, either in the bakery or in metallurgy. I’ve never had a complex about it. On the contrary, men were often impressed by my ability to establish myself in a universe perceived as masculine. That said, I think things are changing a lot.

today, we encounter more and more women in the sectors of building and logistics, in particular in SMES. This is a profession which feminisation, and it is so much better !

What do you think of the diversity of profiles in Cool Roof ? How to evolve you in this enterprise ecosystem ?

Muriel : For me, this is a great wealth. The company is a true melting pot of backgrounds and skills. Certain.e.s have a linear trajectory and highly specialized; others, like me, have a path more eclectic.

This diversity, it is also learning every day. Sharing with my colleagues, I have grown tremendously personally.

The fact of working alongside the Offices of Studies in thermie, materials, and robotics is a fascinating one. They have a very technical language, but I love to listen to their theories and involve me, even if it is not directly in my field.

Finally, a Cool Roof is not just a company, it is a human adventure. We move forward together, and that is what makes this experience unique.

What are your projects for years to come ?

Muriel: My main goal for 2025 is to actively participate in a project. I’m already mounted on a roof cool roofé, but I’ve never had the opportunity to apply the product myself. It is an experience that I find essential to really understand the challenges of our businesses

When you areon a roof by 35 degrees in the shade, before the application of our solutions, and then after, we realize how much our solutions are impacting. This gives more meaning to what I do every day.

Operations and logistics at Cool Roof : A pole is characterized by its capacity optimization and responsiveness to the vagaries of the eco-construction.

Thank you Muriel for this interview ! His daily commitment in Cool Roof perfectly illustrates how the values and diversity can transform a business into a collective mission. Between site management, logistics optimization and ambitions for the future, it plays a key role in the development of sustainable solutions, and in solidarity for our future.tes.

And you, have you ever considered how sustainable logistics and optimized can change the game in the fight against climate change ?
