Thanks to the application of our cool roofing solution on 6350 m² of roof, the Hyper U in Contres has reduced its summer electricity consumption by more than 377,000 kWh between 2018 and 2020, improving its energy efficiency without compromising comfort.
Before the project was carried out, the 6350 m² site in Contres suffered from sharp rises in electricity consumption during the summer months, due to the overheating of its bituminous roof. To counter this energy drift, Cool Roof France applied its thermo-reflective coating to the entire building between June and August 2018.
Comparing the months of June, July and August on a constant climate basis, consumption fell from 938,937 kWh in 2018 to 583,786 kWh in 2019, a reduction of 377,451 kWh, mainly due to lower air conditioning requirements.
In 2020, the data confirms the sustainability of the results, with a summer consumption of 561,486 kWh, still well below the reference year. Here, cool roofing demonstrates its ability to sustainably reduce the energy footprint of a commercial building.
