Cool Roof at Hyper E. Leclerc in Anglet (64)

Thanks to the application of our cool roofing solution to 5030 m² of roofing, the Hyper E. Leclerc store in Anglet in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region of France recorded a drop in surface temperature of more than 23°C and a 27% reduction in electricity consumption linked to air conditioning.

A highly exposed roof, resulting in excessive energy consumption

In 2019, the E.Leclerc centre in Anglet is experiencing severe summer overheating, with surface temperatures exceeding 68°C on its bituminous membrane. This puts a heavy load on the air conditioning systems, with a direct impact on energy consumption. To remedy this, Cool Roof France applied its thermo-reflective coating to 5030 m² between September and December.

Measured results: controlled temperatures and lower consumption

-23.1°C surface temperature

The readings show a reduction of 23.1°C in maximum surface temperature, and 14.1°C on average. The treated roof peaks at 45.6°C, compared with 68.7°C in the unpainted area.
