Thanks to the application of our cool roofing solution to 18,000 m² of roofing, the Casino hypermarket in Valence has reduced its surface temperature by more than 30°C, thereby limiting summer overheating and overconsumption of air conditioning.
In 2018, the 18,000 m² site of the Casino hypermarket in Valence was suffering from severe summer overheating, with roof areas exceeding 54°C, leading to massive recourse to air conditioning.
Cool Roof France took action between June and October, applying its thermo-reflective coating to the entire bituminous membrane. A measurement campaign was carried out using a thermal camera, comparing treated and untreated areas.
The maximum surface temperature falls from 54.5°C to 24.1°C, with an average reduction of 15.4°C. The thermo-reflective coating blocks solar radiation and limits conduction to the interior.
The thermal camera clearly reveals the temperature differences between painted and unpainted roofs, confirming the immediate effectiveness of the coating in blocking solar radiation.
