But what is the ecological transition and what issues does it ? Why is there an emergency ?
And what solutions can be made, starting today, to accelerate the transition and limiting the effects of climate change ?
The ecological transition is a shift to a new economic and social model. One of its main objectives is to move from an energy system based on fossil fuels (oil, natural gas, coal, etc.) to a system based on energy production, favouring renewable energies (wind, solar, biomass, geothermal, hydro…).
The ecological transition is also intended to decrease the energy consumption minimise waste, improve energy efficiency and make a positive change in the consumption patterns of individuals and companies.
Its purpose ? Make a response to the economic, social and sustainable environmental issues of our planet.

The effects of rising temperatures and climate change are already visible, anywhere in the world. Periods of heat and drought are becoming more important, more frequent and longer. 
Precipitation intensifies, the number of tropical cyclones violent increase. 
The Arctic sea ice declining month after month, the permafrost thaws, releasing huge amounts of greenhouse gas (hello methane !)… 
All of these effects increase the health risks, whether those related to water resources, the reduction of agricultural yields, the development of chronic diseases, or even the loss of biodiversity, unable to adapt as quickly to the changes.

The cities are particularly impacted by climate change, and the periods of heat that it generates. For example, in the summer period, it is 8 °C higher in the center of Paris in a large suburb. Paint the roofs of the buildings in white, in the city, but also in commercial or industrial areas, can increase the reflectivity of roofs and thus limit the build-up of heat inside the buildings. The solution is simple and quick to implement. The results are immediate.
Our calculations and returns experiments demonstrate that the average temperature of a building whose roof has a paint reflective Cool Roof France, is lower than 6 °C to a building whose roof remained dark.
