By applying our cool roofing solution to 2,200 m² on two sites in climatic zones H1 and H3, this non-food retailer has reduced its electricity consumption from air conditioning by up to 10.2 kWh/m²/year.
Faced with recurring summer overheating, a non-food retailer undertook roof renovation work on two of its sites – one of 1,200 m² located in zone H1, the other of 1,000 m² in zone H3.
At the retailer’s site in the H1 climate zone, the average reduction in electricity consumption linked to air conditioning was 7.3 kWh/m²/year, a significant saving even in an area less exposed to high temperatures. The impact is visible month after month, with consumption reduced by 15 to 35% on average in summer.
On site H3, savings peak at 10.2 kWh/m²/year. Comparing the data between 2022 (before treatment) and 2024 (after Cool Roof), we can see a drop of more than 50% in air conditioning consumption in July and August, despite similar sunshine conditions.
The richness of this feedback enables us to compare data from sites belonging to the same distributor, but facing different climatic conditions. One, located in zone H1, suffered from summer overheating despite its more temperate climate. The other, located in zone H3, was even more vulnerable to the increased sunshine and heat.
This combined feedback confirms the effectiveness of cool roofing for commercial buildings, even in a variety of configurations and climates.
Some of our feedback, like this one, is voluntarily anonymised at the request of our customers. This approach is designed to respect the confidentiality of sensitive or strategic sites, while sharing the concrete results achieved thanks to our cool roofing solution.
